I'm a superfan of adaptogens, and Maca is one that works well for many people. Here’s the recipe, along with a bit of info on the benefits of the latte:
Ingredients:
2 teaspoon maca powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Sprinkle of monkfruit sugar (or a dash of maple syrup)
1 tablespoon MCT oil
1/2 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
20 oz hot water
(Note: if you really want to up your game here, add 1 teaspoon of Chaga powder or another medicinal mushroom that you love)!
Instructions:
Add all ingredients into a blender. Blend on high until creamy.
Divide between two mugs, garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon!
👉Maca is highly nutritious medicinal plant (also known as an adaptogen) that grows in the mountains of Peru. It promotes mental acuity, physical vitality, endurance, and stamina in addition to balancing hormones. It's also been shown to reduce anxiety and depression and is rich in essential amino acids, iodine, iron, magnesium, as well as sterols that may possess a wide range of activities that support adrenal and hormone function.
👉Cinnamon has been prized for its medicinal properties for thousands of years. It contains high amounts of highly potent polyphenol antioxidants and been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect, which may help lower the risk of heart disease (including lowering cholesterol, high triglyceride levels and blood pressure). It's a natural anti-microbial, anti-biotic, anti-fungal food and helps balance blood sugar levels.
Enjoy!
